  4. Now add more 1/2 cup water. If you want liquid consistency you can add more water and if you want thick consistency don't add water.
  5. Now add finely chopped tomato, green chilli, ginger in it and boil for 5-7 minutes at the same time also add sugar or Jaggery in it.
  6. Now for tadka take a tadka pan. Heat 1 tbsp oil. Add mustard and cumin seeds. Asafoetida, curry leaves, clove, cinnamon, fenugreek seeds, dry red chilli and bay leaf. Then add tadka in the dal carefully. As it spread while we put in dal. As soon as tadka in dal close lid. So tadka can't get out and got nice flavour.
  7. Now add lemon juice and mix well. Garnished with coriander leaves. Dal is ready to serve with rice or roti.
  8. If you want Dal more spicy you can add red chilli powder, band garam masala in it.
