  2. Get as needed oil for deep frying

  6. Prepare 2 whole red chillies
  7. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Instructions to make Batata Vada:
  1. Mashed potatoes
  2. Heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add the curry leaves, ginger, garlic, green chilli,whole red chillies, turmeric and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  3. Add the tempering to the mashed potatoes, along with the chopped coriander leaves.
  4. Divide the potato mixture into equal size of balls.Keep them aside.
  5. Make a thick batter with the chickpea flour(besan) and the other ingredients.Mix them well.
  6. Heat the oil & - When the oil is hot, dip each ball in the batter and deep fry until golden brown in colour.
  7. Serve hot with green chutney & pav
