Steps to make Batata vada:
  1. Heat one spoon oil in a pan put mustard seeds, green chilli,curry leaves and ginger, saute for few seconds.
  2. Add salt, turmeric and mashed potatoes, mix well then add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
  3. In a mixing bowl put gramflour, salt, turmeric and baking soda. Add little water and make a batter without any lumlps.
  4. Now make equal size 8-9 balls from potatoes mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and dip each ball into the batter and slowly slide in the hot oil and deep fry till golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with chutney.
