  2. Take 1 tablespoon magadal, rice, millet flour, sorghum flour
  3. Take 1 + 1+1+teaspoon red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder
  4. Make ready 1 starflower (staranise)
  5. Make ready 1/2 + 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, mustard seeds
  6. Take to taste Salt
  7. Get as required Oil, curry leaves as needed

Bhaidku is Gujarati word for spicy porridge. It can be made with many different grains. Bajri bhaidku is popular so the ready-made flour is often available. We can prepare various kinds of combinations.

Instructions to make Bhaidku:
  1. In a pan, fry the magdal and rice one by one till they turn light brown. Then roughly grind them in a mixer jar until cool. Now add millet and sorghum flour to this mixture and mix well.
  2. Then add water to a pan, add the flour mixture. Stir constantly so that there are no lumps in it. Once the mixture thickens, add spices and stir well. (Here you can also add finely chopped garlic, onion, ginger-chili)
  3. Then add tadka of oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, starflower and serve hot
